…Etinan is wearing a new look, Traditional fathers are smiling…” Paramount Ruler

Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Uko Umoh has commended the Paramount Ruler of the Local Government Area, HRM, Edidem Aniefiok M. Akpanobong, for his efforts at ensuring his subordinate Village Heads at their respective domains maintained peace and order. 

The Council helmsman who dropped his commendations on Friday, January 12, 2024 while paying homage to the Etinan Traditional Rulers’ Council (TRC) at the Paramount Ruler’s Palace, pledged the continued supportive role of the Local Government Council under him, to the TRC to enable them live long and continue to perform their fatherly functions.

Uko Umoh who noted that besides the homage to the Traditional fathers which he hoped to maintain from time to time; he was at the palace to brief the Monarch on his steps taken so far with a view to receiving fatherly advice and royal blessings.

Hon. Umoh said “With due reverence to His Royal Majesty, the Paramount Ruler of Etinan Local Government Area and members of his Council, I find it a great privilege to stand before you as Chairman of Etinan Local Council.

I am here as a demonstration of the respect and regard that I have for our revered traditional institution. Apart from the homage which I owe you as my father, I’m also here to brief Your Majesty on the steps I have taken so far in my one month in office with a view to receiving your advice where necessary. By God’s grace, I hope to make this homage a routine event throughout my tenure.

One important thing I must note is that it is also part of my responsibilities as Council Chairman to contribute to your welfare. Taking good care of you would even make my work easier because you are the ones who reside closer to the people in your respective domains. I want to also thank you for your efforts so far in ensuring peace and order in our villages”.

The Council Boss who took time to enumerate most of what he has been able to achieve in the last one month since his emergence as Chairman, further solicited continued support of the Royal Fathers. He further mentioned some of his plans which he noted would begin in few weeks time to include, grading of internal roads in all the 12 wards, offering free surgery for 1000 Etinan residents, ensuring security of lives and property and so forth.

Speaking during, the Paramount Ruler expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the visit. He also thanked the Chairman for the New Year gifts presented to the traditional leaders and  commended the ongoing Etinan-Uyo Road cleanup exercise initiated by Hon. Uko Umoh-led administration.

“You don’t need to talk much. What you are doing within this short time is there for everyone to see. Those who ply the Etinan-Uyo Road would testify that it is wearing a new look, courtesy of your One Month old administration as Chairman. You are a miracle Chairman.

The Traditional fathers are happy with you. Thank you for the New Year gifts. We are feeling the impacts of your administration and we pray God to bless you and give you more strength to do even more”, the Monarch said.

The Paramount Ruler at the occasion also tasked the Village Heads on the need to support Governor Umoh Eno as well as the Council Chairman by providing valuable information and mobilizing security to protect government properties in their domains.

In the entourage of the Chairman were his Vice, Hon. Imaobong Michael; Chief of Staff, Pastor Ubong Inyang; Supervisor for Political and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ene Etuknwa and SA to the Chairman on Youths, Hon. Item Etuk.
