The outgoing administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State will be remembered for the huge effort on rehabilitation and provision of new infrastructures in the state.

This was the pulse of the people today, during the inauguration of the 3.5Km Afaha Iman Leprosy Hospital Road in Etinan Local Government Area.

According to the Governor, the reason his administration has concentrated in building community and rural roads “is to make two categorical statements that we have kept our promises on rural development, and this project is one of the outcomes”.

” Number two, it is to come back to the communities and thank them through project commissioning for all their support”.

Speaking emphatically, Emmanuel said amongst other benefits, the significance of the road is that it will provide seamless access to one of the formest health facilities in the state, the Etinan Leprosy Hospital.

While reelingout the engineering specifications of the new road, the commissioner for Works and Fire Service in the state, Prof. Eno Ibanga described the quality of construction and materials used for the building of the new road as meeting national statendard.

He said the road which was impassible for several years, especially during raining season, was constructed with 5mm wearing course with 0.715 outfall drain to check flooding.

Also, the Managing Director of the Contracting Firm, Nipoj Global Services Limited, Mr. Godwin Okechukwu thanked the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel and traditional rulers in Etinan for providing enabling environment throughout the period of execution of the project.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Clatus Ekpo, commended Governor Emmanuel for his commitment towards developing the area through access roads and other lagacy infrastructures.

Meanwhile, leaders of thoughts in Etinan Local Government Area, including the Member Representating Etinan State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, and Chairman, House Committee on Information, Barr. Dennis Akpan, as well as the newly emerged political Leader of Etinan, Otuekong Isantin Kenneth, have expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Etinan.
