What Are the Mandatory Eligibility Checklist?

Admission into the NDA is open to both MALE and FEMALE Nigerians. Failure to meet any of the requirements below will lead to immediate disqualification.

1. Academic and Age Requirements

Requirement Details
Age Limit Must be at least 17 years old and NOT more than 21 years old as of August 2026 (the year of entry).
Marital Status Must be SINGLE (Male or Female) and without any legal obligation to support any child.
O’Level Credits Minimum of 5 credit passes at GCE/SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) in not more than 2 sittings. This must include English Language and Mathematics plus three other relevant subjects. Note: Awaiting results are NOT qualified.
UTME Score Must have passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attained an acceptable score: 180 for Arts & Social Sciences, Science, and Military Science OR 210 for Engineering courses.

2. Physical and Citizenship Requirements

  • Height: Must be at least 1.68 meters tall for males and 1.65 meters tall for females.

  • Fitness: Must be medically and physically fit and of good moral character.

  • Indigeneship: Must present a Certificate of Indigeneship from the state government or local government area during the final screening.

Step-by-Step Application Process (₦7,000 Fee)

Follow these steps carefully on the official portal (www.ndaapplications.net) to complete your submission:

  1. Purchase Access Code: Visit the portal, click “Purchase Access Code”, and enter your required personal details.

  2. Generate RRR Code: The system will generate your ORDER ID and the REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code.

  3. Make Payment: Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦7,000.00 using the generated RRR Code. Crucial: Only payment against RRR Codes generated via the application portal will be accepted.

  4. Complete Form: Log back in to fill out the application form. Ensure all bio-data, academic results, and course selection are accurately provided.

  5. Submission & Forms: Attest and submit your application. You must DOWNLOAD and PRINT the following required documents:

    • Acknowledgement Form

    • Parent/Guardian Consent Form

NDA Screening Test (Phase One Post-UTME)

The NDA Screening Test is mandatory for all eligible candidates and is the first stage of the Post-UTME selection process.

Eligibility Only candidates who meet the UTME minimum score (180/210) and satisfy all admission requirements will be enabled to print the admission card.

Items to Bring to the Centre (MANDATORY)

You will NOT be allowed to write the screening test without these four items:

  1. Acknowledgement Form (printed from the portal)

  2. Screening Test Admission Card (printed from the portal)

  3. JAMB Result Slip

  4. TWO (2) postcard-sized photographs (3.5 x 5 inches): The photos should show your chest upwards and must have your Name, Exam Number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study, and Signature written at the back.

The Selection Board (AFSB) and Final Selection

Candidates who pass the NDA Screening Test (CBT) will be shortlisted and invited to appear before the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

The AFSB process includes:

  • Comprehensive Medical Examination

  • Physical Fitness Test

  • Rigorous Oral Interview

This stage is the final hurdle. Successful candidates from the AFSB will be offered admission into the NDA 78 Regular Course.
