Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area; Hon Uko Umoh said he would ensure a routine interface with the leadership and members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the area in order to sustain its winning culture.

The Council Boss who dropped the hint on Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen at the Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo premises of the member representing Etinan State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA); Hon Uduak Ufot added that he would run an administration where every sociopolitical cum economic facet in the area is well attended to.

He said “We were gathering here today in the spirit of the New Year to celebrate with the leaders and members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Etinan Local Government Area. PDP is the ruling party in Akwa Ibom State and has been in the habit of winning elections in the state.

As a Council Chairman, I will ensure that the party is well-positioned in order to sustain the winning spirit. That’s why myself, the Honourable member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly; Obong Paul Ekpo, the Member representing Etinan State Constituency in the State House of Assembly; Hon. Uduak Ufot, the Chapter Chairman of the Party in Etinan; Dr Inemesit Itina, Ward Chairmen and other leaders of the Party in Etinan, came together to celebrate the New Year.

“By the grace of God, what we have shared today will trickle down to the wards and villages so that all our members would feel the impact of the New Year celebrations.

To the best of our ability, my administration would ensure the sustenance of this interface from time to time so that we get to appraise the progress and challenges of our dear Party in order to reposition it. We want to sustain the winning culture of the PDP in Etinan. We want to promote peace and unity within the party”.

Our Correspondent who monitored the New Year meet reports that bags of rice and money were shared to all the Ward Chairmen who received the items on behalf of their members at their respective political wards.

Also present during the brief ceremony were past and present political office holders of Etinan extraction.
