The Coordinator of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), Akwa Ibom State Chapter; Dr. (Mrs.) Theresa Edem has described as well-deserved, the victory of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential poll held on February 25, 2023, stressing that the electoral win was herald of sustainable development in Nigeria.

Dr. Edem who stated this in a message of congratulations dated March 8, 2023, which she personally signed, also noted that the former Lagos state governor’s triumph didn’t come as a surprise to herself and her group, considering Tinubu’s personage and political pedigree.

The AWCS State Leader also congratulated the former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and former Niger Delta Affairs’ Minister; His Excellency, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio on his victory as Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District, as well as Obong Akanimo Udofia on his Supreme Court confirmation as the duly elected governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Akwa Ibom state in March 18, 2023 governorship election.

Parts of the message read “On behalf of the South-South Grand Patron; Chief Sunny Ibanga, State and Local Government Executive Committees of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, I wish to sincerely congratulate the APC Presidential Candidate in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election; His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory as President-elect.

No victory could be well-deserving than the victory of a man who started long ago, labouring for the democracy we all enjoy today. H.E. Asiwaju Tinubu invested his hard-earned resources, time and in most cases, risked his life for the purpose of enthronement of civilian rule in Nigeria.

Worthy of mentioning here is the fact that H.E Asiwaju Tinubu has demonstrated tremendous capacity to lead Nigeria to greatness. He recorded huge success as governor of Lagos state between 1999 and 2007 which informed our decision to support and mobilize the women to vote for him. We are confident that the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu will herald sustainable development in Nigeria”.

Godswill Obot Akpabio on his emergence as Senator-elect for Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District. This is a victory we all anticipated, given the level of love the ‘Uncommon Transformer’ enjoys amongst his people.

We also wish to salute Obong Akanimo Udofia on his judicial affirmation as the duly nominated governorship candidate of our great Party, the APC, by the Supreme Court. As a philanthropist who is loved by all Akwa Ibomites, we believe strongly that Obong Akanimo Udofia shall emerge victorious come March 18, 2023 as governor of the Akwa Ibom state”
