*Says enough is enough

Coalition for Better Nigeria, an Umbrella Body of Hundreds of Youths and Students Organisation within and outside Nigeria has concluded plans to organize what it calls Mother-of-All-Rallies across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.

The plan which was made known by Comrade AWA Bamiji; Executive President, Bola Ige Centre for Justice while addressing newsmen yesterday at Unity Fountain, Abuja said the rally would be a counter to  Anti-Tinubu protests organized by those he called trouble makers in some parts of the country.

In a pre-rally press release signed by Awa Bamiji, the Coalition gave the names of the alleged trouble makers to include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, ex-VP and 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party Presidential Candidate and his running mate; Mr. Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti, respectively, and others, and called on the Inspector-General of Police to “…stop their show of shame”.

Bamiji who is also President-General, Grand Council of Yoruba Youths in the release expressed the Coalition’s concerns over the alleged silence of the country’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Directorate of State Security (DSS) and other security agencies, averring same to be a proof that “…Cabal in Aso Rock Villa is still at work, after losing out of the epic battle of the APC Presidential Election Primary, followed by subjecting the innocent Nigerians to suffering of cash crunch and fuel scarcity before the election and up till now”.

The release read “Because our attention was drawn to shameful and disgusting protests which their Organisers, who are pure Enemies of Democracy described as Anti – Tinubu Protests in Nassarawa, Abuja and few other places. We therefore say “enough is enough”.

The reason why we, the foremost June 12 Activists across the Globe are now calling on General Public to rise up immediately and defend their mandate freely given to the President – Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by joining our Marathon Campaign that just took off today with bigger Crowd compared to that of Opposition amidst tight security and full press coverage at Unity Fountain, Abuja, at 8am prompt, which is a peaceful solidary gathering.

Please, it’s strictly voluntary and best described as a take – off point of our big project coming up during the week titled “Mother of All Rallies”, as a prelude to a full blown OCCUPY NIGERIA, nationwide peaceful protests to be staged simultaneously in all the 36 States’ Capitals and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, which must be staged should there be a continuation of Anti – Tinubu protest anywhere in the Country.

Please, watch out for mother of all Rallies during the week courtesy of COALITION FOR BETTER NIGERIA, an Umbrella Body of Hundreds of Youths’ and Students’ Organisation within and outside Nigeria.

We therefore call on Inspector General of Police to henceforth intervene by stopping this ongoing show of shame by the Opposition, among whom are the following prominent trouble makers of decades, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his former Deputy and the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his Running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State; Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmed, Labour Party Presidential Candidate and his Running Mate Chief, Chief Emmanuel Nwayanwu, Chief Bode George, Pa Ayo Adebanjo among others.

Their selfish interest, collective threat to our Democracy and continuous calling for the outright cancellation of the Presidential election to pave way for the Interim National Government, a repeat of June 12 saga, were well understood and had since become a common knowledge. Silence of the DG, NIA; DG, DSS; and Inspector General of Police and other Security Agencies means Cabal in Aso Rock Villa is still at work, after losing out of the epic battle of the APC Presidential Election Primary, followed by subjecting the innocent Nigerians to suffering of cash crunch and fuel scarcity before the election and up till now.

“It’s no retreat, no surrender” until May 29 inauguration becomes a reality. We are better experienced with bitter experience of the June 12 election annulment, exactly 30 years ago coupled with modern technology. After going to the Tribunal, they both became nuisances and their long enduring civil disobedience has just taken another dimension with our intervention.

The former 2 term Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole and former 2 term Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha were today represented by Comrade Godwin Udhedhe Imenu and Bishop (Dr) Paul John; the most popular former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), during the June 12, 1993 election annulment, who was severally incarcerated by the successful military Juntas as well as the former Spokesman of the Lagos House of Assembly, Hon (Comrade) Segun Olulade, Hon Tosin Adeyanju were equally in attendance among several others while remaining days of the week promise to witness the attendance of the following dignitaries and  Right’ Activists among others, the Leader of Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Front, Alhaji Asari Dokubo; President, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima; Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede (JMK), former USA Host of NADECO meetings abroad, whose beautiful Mansion was burnt down completely during the June 12 struggles by the Spies of late military dictator and Head of State, General Sanni Abacha and the Nigerians in Diaspora are equally signifying their interests to come home, join forces with us before week runs out and defend this fragile Democracy in Nigeria, prominent among them is Anthony Fasayo, a. k.a (Tony Fash), former Students’ Union President, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile – Ife, during the 1995 turbulent era on Campus, all the way from Dublin among others in the endless list of June 12 Veterans.
