One School for $10k Challenge: Peter Obi’s supporter replies Reno Omokri

One of the supporters of Mr. Peter Obi has responded to Reno Omokri’s challenge to OBIdients to name one school built by Obi and get $10,000.

Popular social media influencer and Public Affairs Analyst, Mr. Reno Omokri had challenged supporters of the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party; His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi to name one school he initiated, built and completed during his tenure as governor and get a reward of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000).

Omokri, a self-styled ‘Table Shaker’, who posed the challenge in his social media post, was comparing Peter Obi, a former two-term governor of Anambra state, to a Chairman, Local Council Development Area in Lagos state; Mr. Monsuru Obe who, according to Omokri, had constructed four roads, two schools and other life-touching infrastructure in his local government area.

Omokri said “This is Mr. Monsuru Obe. He is the Chairman of the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos. Please fact-check me: His government has constructed four roads, two schools, and is in the process of constructing a third school, and has built and commissioned multiple health centres.

Mr. Obe’s administration has also provided free uniforms to primary school pupils in his LCDA. Please note that Mr. Obe is NOT a Local Government Chairman. He is a Local Council Development Area Chairman, meaning his allocation is smaller than that of a constitutionally recognised Local Government Chairman.

Yet, he has achieved this. Now, my challenge to Peter Obi and his Obidients is this: Name one school that Peter Obi’s government initiated, started, completed and commissioned in the eight years that he was Governor of Anambra, and I will pay you $10,000.

How can a Local Council Development Area Chairman’s government build multiple schools, and a Governor did not construct even one, and then you say he is the best Presidential candidate you can offer Nigerians? Surely, Nigeria deserves better. Don’t you think so? Name and collect the money!”

Responding to the challenge on one of the social media platforms, an ‘Obidient’ who identified self as Tee Mac, while scolding Reno to ‘Feocus on facts’, listed the following as Peter Obi’s achievements as Anambra governor:

“1.. Peter Obi built ANSU Teaching hospital Awka.

2. Peter Obi built ANSU Igbariam campus.
3. Peter Obi built Head bridge to Umunya 10 lanes
4. Peter Obi built Agulu Lake hotel
5. Peter Obi paid off 32b gratuities owed since millitary era.
6. Peter Obi built Nkpor fly over.
7. Peter Obi built Obosi Flyover (Julius Berger is using it for their by pass now)
8. Peter Obi bought over 1000 vehicles from Innoson and paid cash. He gave the vehicles to secondary schools, traditional rulers and vigilante groups.
9. Peter Obi dualized Zik Avenue to Agu-Awka with RCC.
10. Peter Obi installed the first public dialysis machine in Anambra state at general hospital Onitsha.
11. Peter Obi built Nigeria Stock Exchange at Onitsha
12. Peter Obi procured over 100,000 computers for all secondary schools in ANS.
13. Peter Obi gave any first class graduate from Anambra state 1m naira
14. Peter Obi paid anybody from Anambra above 80 years of age 10k till he left office.
15. Peter Obi built over 800 km of rural and urban roads including Aguleri to Adani Enugu road .
16. Peter Obi rehabilted and gave all secondary schools in Anambra a giant 50kva generator still in use till today.
17. He gave all Mission secondary schools 100m naira as grant.
18. Peter Obi attracted SAB Miller Brewery to Onitsha. This Brewery is giving Nigeria Brewery a run for their money till date with Hero and other brands in of beer.
19. Peter Obi left over 75b naira in state coffers while handing over to his successor in March 2014.
20. Peter Obi built the first Anambra state Secratariat named after Jerome Udorji in Awka.
21. Peter Obi bought over 10 Armoured Personnel Carriers for security agencies in ANS.
22. Peter Obi was impeached and removed from office illegally twice yet he was able to achieve all these and much more. Go to Anambra and verify if all these facts does not exist. If you are not tired of surffering under bad and poor leadership in Nigeria, then continue to fight him.
