PUBLIC NOTICE

Setting the record straight
NOGASA is the umbrella body for all oil and gas dealers in Nigeria and the bonafide employers of NUPENG and other components of NUPENG who are employees of the downstream sub-sector in the Oil and Gas Sector

For the purpose of the letter circulating in the internet said to have Originated from IPMAN Akwa Ibom State Coordinating Committee.

IPMAN is a reputable Organization, IPMAN is not known for taking their decisions and actions through a Coordinating Committee in any State.
This could be the reason the Author of the said letter refused to sign the letter with his name

and on the PTD alleged strike, NOGASA is not aware of any letter from PTD suggesting that they are embarking on strike and for whatever reason, we have heard rumours suggesting that PTD is stopping trucks in some part of Akwa Ibom disguising as protest and demanding money from the truck and products owners, I am sure no security agency or Government received any document from PTD intimating them of strike and the reason for the strike. That is to say that the security agencies can consider that action illegal

More so, the trucks kidnapped and held hostage by PTD belongs to the Marketers. Petroleum Products is inflammable and highly corrosive capable of explosion or even an accident because of the traffic generated by this action of PTD and when it gets to such (which we pray it shouldn’t) even the Community where this Tankers are kept will be at great risk as the inferno may be difficult to control.

The Tanker Drivers Union known as PTD are our employees but we cannot stop the Government from treating people capable of causing hardship through artificial scarcity as non state actors.

We hereby distance ourselves from the action of PTD and whatever may be the resultant effect of their actions.

Comrade Sam Osung
NOGASA Chairman
Akwa Ibom State Council
