A student of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua in Ikot Ekpene has been confirmed death after he got drowned in Abia Akpo River.
As at the time of this report, the full name of the student was not confirmed. But eyewitnesses, some of whom knew the deceased said he was doing his second year National Diploma in the Electrical Engineering Department of the institution.
His lifeless body was found floating on Saturday morning three days after he got drowned in the local River.
Eyewitness accounts have that local divers were trying to evacuate the corpse from the river
