In the spirit of the season, the Senator representing Akwa Ibom South in the Senate, Senator Ekong Sampson, visited Onna, Okobo and Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Areas, yesterday, where he celebrated Christmas with constituents and feted them with cash, bags of rice and numerous other food items.

At Onna, Senator Sampson, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals alongside his entourage, was received by a large gathering of stakeholders of the Local Government Area as wel as supporters.

The Akwa Ibom South Senator, while speaking, assured that as a grassroots person, he will continue to stay connected with his constituents, give them necessary support and hunt for every opportunity to better their lives, through employment and empowerments.

He said from time to time, he will always come back home to report progress and hear from his constituents. Senator hinted that he was working on attracting a number of developmental interventions to the Senatorial District, to boost socioeconomic growth and human capacity development.

Responding, speakers after speakers, from across a strata of the stakeholders and opinion leaders, poured encomiums on Senator Sampson, for what they roundly described as very focused, effective Senate representation so far. They expressed deep appreciation for the Christmas largese and assured the National Assembly man of continuous support.

From Onna, Senator Ekong Sampson with his entourage, also visited Okobo and Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Areas, where the people of the areas were also feted, accordingly. The Senator Ekong Sampson Christmas tour continues today, with visit to other Local Government Areas in the district.
