Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS), Akwa Ibom State Chapter has reaffirmed its belief in His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio’s capacity to lead the 10th National Assembly for the benefits and betterment of all Nigerians.

The women group while stating this in a message of congratulations dated June 13, 2023 and addressed to Sen. Akpabio on the occasion of his emergence as President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a copy of which was obtained by our Paper, said they were vindicated having earlier drummed support for the former Akwa Ibom Governor for the Senate Presidency.

The message signed by Dr. (Mrs.) Theresa Edem, on behalf of the State Executive Council, South-South Grand Patron, Chapter Executives and members of the group, also lauded the senators for having confidence in Akpabio whom they described as”right choice for the job”.

By your election as Senate President, your colleagues have made the right choice for the job. This is because you have unbeaten records of superlative performances, anywhere, anytime you are called upon for services. We cannot forget in a hurry how you redefined governance in our dear state; Akwa Ibom.

“You  transformed Akwa Ibom state uncommonly. You invested in human capital development and infrastructure. You gave the women their rightful place in governance while also turning boys to men.

As a Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, you transformed the Ministry and as well, sanitized and repositioned the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to serve the purpose for which it was created, decades ago.
