The Honourable Minister for Women Affairs, Dr. (Mrs) Uju Kennedy has expressed her delight over the Nigerian Female football team – Super Falcons’ qualification for the Olympic Games to be hosted in Paris, France.

The Minister whose feeling was part of her comment circulated on Social Media platforms noted that she was delighted to be in the company of her colleague Minister in charge of Sports, John Enoh to the Moshood Abiola stadium where the Falcons defeated the Lionesses of Cameroon to seal their participation in the global soccer fiesta.

“I was delighted to accompany my colleague and Honorable Minister of Sports, Sen. John Enoh to Moshood Abiola stadium  as our female national football team, Super Falcons defeated the Lionesses of Cameroon to book the Olympic games in Paris”, Dr. Uju said.

While relieving her exciting moments during the match, praising the Nigerian Female team for a superlative performance, the football-loving Minister continued “Most gratifying was the resilience from Falcons after  goalless draw from the first leg in Douala last week Friday and from the onset of the game, they gave a good account of themselves with a pulsating performance against their Cameroonian opponents before Esther Okoronkwo scored the only goal of the encounter after good work by Jennifer Echegini down the left flank.

Echegini went to the byline before cutting back the ball for a well-positioned Okoronkwo to jab home.

I am personally proud of the Falcons for ensuring that the Nigerian flag will be hoisted at the Paris games”.
