The Afaha Ntup Christmas Day celebration marked a significant milestone through the display of reach cultural heritage, Scholarship Awards, Lecture Presentation and lots more.

Afaha Ntup is one of the constituent communities in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and the host community to the Akwa Ibom State College of Education. Afaha Nsit is the community where crude oil was discovered in the LGA, a hospitable land blessed with Talents, Mineral resources and rich cultural heritage. A destination and safe haven for investments.

Highlights of the event were unveiling of the Youth Executive Committee led by Mr. Unwana Ezra Paul, Presentation of Award of recognition to the immediate past Youth President, Mr. Silas Orok, Lecturer Presentation by Pastor Godson Obot on the theme “Promoting Cultural Heritage for Effective Development of Afaha Ntup”

The event also featured cultural displays, Ekonke, Dance competition, Comedy, Tug of War, Miming, Dance display.

The President in his welcome address while appreciating the people for granting him the opportunity to pilot the affairs of the Youth in the Area also solicited for support for the success of his administration.

Chief Elijah Aaron, a representative of the Village Council while speaking admonished all to emulate ethical conducts and vvirtue noting that such had enabled him live as the oldest person in the community. He thereafter blessed the Land and Members of the Youth Executive Committee.

Pastor Godson Obot AMNIM, CPD, HSP who is a native of the community earlier entrusted with the responsibility of knitting a working document, a Constitution for the body was again engaged on Lecture Presentation on the epoch-making occasion.

The speaker in the course of the presentation pinpointed some elements of development in a community and in the society at large which according to him the desired changes and development in the Society begins with Human Resources and concerted efforts. He cited proper parenting and upbringing of future generations, proper refinement and promotion of cultural heritages, Quest for destiny discovery for proper harnessing of talents, Passion for Community services, Love and unity amongst the people, passion for hardwork, excellence and discipline as development catalyst which properly positions protagonists thereby catapult a given community and Society to the desired lengths and breadth of Sociopolitical and economic development.

The Speaker who is a Chartered Manager from the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) as well as a Certified Project Director from the International Project Management Professionals (IPMP), as his further contribution to humanity and community service in support of the Arise Agenda of His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, announced scholarship Awards to five (5) Children from the less-privileged backgrounds, each to be drawn from five Families making the Community.
