Akwa Ibom State Government-owned airline, IbomAir have apologized to their numerous customers over spates of flight disruptions In recent times. In a release circulated in the media, the company blamed the disruptions on sudden to unscheduled maintenance with their aircraft.

The release reads in full “Dear Valued Customers, As of 12 January 2024, we have come upon a spate of flight disruption due to the sudden evolvement of unscheduled maintenance with our aircraft. 

We are painfully aware of how this must have adversely affected our valued customers.

“Our assessment indicates that this situation may persist throughout the weekend as we diligently work to restore our operations to the efficient normalcy you expect from us, prioritizing your safety and convenience.

To our affected passengers, expect communication via email, phone calls, and/or text messages with detailed information regarding your flight. Communication will be sent to the contact details provided during your flight bookings. If you purchased your ticket through travel agencies, kindly reach out to them for additional updates.
