…Uwah, Bassey, Esset, Udoh, Others Praise Governor, Vow Unwavering Support

In a spectacular display of political unity and generosity, political leaders in Uyo gathered for a stakeholders’ engagement meeting, spreading Christmas cheer through substantial donations of food and essential items to their constituents. The festive event not only aimed to brighten the holiday season but also underscored the leaders’ commitment to alleviating economic hardships in the region.

Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Enobong Uwah, who also serves as the political leader of Uyo, expressed gratitude to Governor Pastor Umo Eno for implementing the ARISE agenda. Uwah called on constituents to support the government’s initiatives for good governance, human development, peace, security, and industrialization.

He lauded the governor for key appointments of Uyo indigenes, showcasing the region’s significant representation in various governmental positions.

Senator Aniekan Bassey, representing Uyo Senatorial District, expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support received during the elections, acknowledging Enobong Uwah as the political leader of Uyo Constituency and Uyo Local Government.

Senator Bassey underscored his commitment to bringing development to his senatorial district, citing a substantial contribution of four kilometres of road within six months.

Rt. Hon. Mark Esset, the Member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, extended gratitude to Uyo residents for their unwavering support of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He urged continued backing for Governor Umo Eno, emphasising the pivotal role played by the area in securing the highest votes during the last elections and promising to attract developmental projects to his constituency in order to elevate their standards of living.

The Member representing Uyo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon.Uwemedimo Asuquo, also reiterated his dedication to the development plan for the state, promising to work for the benefit of the people of his constituency and being a reliable partner with the executive to deliver effective governance for the state.

Sir Charles Udoh, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, echoing sentiments of appreciation, called on the people of the area and the state to provide even more support to the government.

He stated that the present administration is committed to showcasing the amazing tourism and economic potential of the state to the world, thereby driving more visitors to the state with its ripple economic impact, as witnessed by the ongoing Christmas festival.

Highlighting the unity of the area, Monday Eyo, Deputy Political Leader of Uyo and Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, praised the current leadership, emphasising the unprecedented number of political leaders within the constituency.

He thanked Governor Umo Eno for fulfilling campaign promises, fostering unity, and celebrating the Christmas season with enthusiasm. He stated that the government is committed to supporting it’s human capital for global competitiveness through welfare packages and training programmes.

Rt. Honourable Anietie Eka, a former member representing Uyo State Constituency and current Chairman of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), joined others in praising the governor for supporting the zone, reaffirming the people’s commitment to the ARISE agenda. He noted that the people of the constituency are always ready to support the government to bring development closer to the people, in line with the rural development component of the A.R.I.S.E. agenda.

The Chairman of Uyo Local Government, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, expressed gratitude for the unity of the area, commending the governor for elevating Uyo’s status within the government structure. He specifically recognised key appointments, including those of Rt. Honourable Anietie Eka, Chairman of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), and other senior government officials from the area.

The council boss stated that Uyo, being the state capital, is poised to create an enabling environment to foster growth and development for the state.

In conclusion, stakeholders engagement meeting not only celebrated Christmas but also showcased a united front dedicated to supporting the Governor’s vision for development across education, agriculture, and economic prosperity.
