…as youths pay him solidarity visit

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated the commitment of his administration to providing the climate that will enable youths to maximize their potentials.

Governor Fubara gave the assurance when youths of Emohua Local Government Area, under the aegis of “Emohua Youths For SIM”, paid a solidarity visit to him at Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday.

The youths were drawn from all the 14 political wards in Emohua Local Government Area.

These youths had seen the impressive performance of governor Fubara in office in less than one year, and are particularly delighted for those critical projects undertaken in their area with some already completed.

Governor Fubara said the programmes and policies of his administration are intended to make living bearable for all Rivers residents with youths not excluded.

The Governor spoke to the group through the Head of Rivers State Head Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke.

Governor Fubara said the Elele-Omudiaga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Omoku Road was recently awarded by his administration after the State Executive Council approved that the road be dualised.

There is also, among others, he said, the Emohua-Kalabari Road that is ongoing, which will add to ease movement and improve commercial activities in the area.

“Everything that the governor is doing is putting the interest of Rivers State first. He is giving attention to those things that we need in order to restart the wheels of progress in Rivers State.

“There are many things the governor has planned and others he is already doing that will boost the life and welfare of every citizen of Rivers State, but most importantly the youths.

The governor said further: “Growing up, I learnt that Egbeda is one of the biggest communities in the whole of Ikwerre and it is predominantly an agrarian community.

“They have food in Egbeda. They have food in Ubimini. They have food in Omudiaga and other natural resources. The whole world is tilting to agriculture, and this is the way to go.

“The Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Omoku road, when completed, will open up the area for real development. Your food and everything you produce there will now have value.

“They will no longer be thrown away. In all these, you, the youths are going to be the ultmost beneficiaries.

Governor Fubara spoke further: “Same will be applicable to the Emohua-Kalabari Road which will also open up development in the area and you will be the greatest beneficiaries.

“When the LGA is also electrified, you will be having 24 or 20 hours to do many things. You can stay at home and create wealth for yourself and children.”

Governor Fubara urged them to continue to toe the path of truth by identifying with his administration.

The governor said under him, the state government will allow politicians to turn youths to beggars, insisting that such era was gone.

In his speech, the leader of the delegation, and speaking for the “Emohua Youths for SIM,” Comrade Ovundah Ovamale said they came to thank governor Fubara for allocating and actually executing numerous projects in the area that are transforming their lives.

“Siminalayi Fubara of recent has given Emohua Local Government a Road to link Elele to Omoku which traverses over four communities.

“Emohua Local Government has also been in darkness for 8 years. No community in the local government enjoys electricity. But, recently, because of the passion and love governor Fubara has for the people of Emohua, he has approved the rural electrification project for the area.”
