Men of the Nigerian Army two Brigade have secured the release of a front line politician and indigene of Etinan Local government area, Dr. Andrew Unwanta this evening.

Unwanta, after a successful rescue, was handed over to the local government chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh in Uyo.

It could be recalled that Unwanta was kidnapped earlier today while visiting his farm along Etinan/Mkpat Enin road. Upon receiving the news, the LG chairman swung into action by calling on the Nigerian Army two Brigade to help secure his release.

The army, was said to have secured Unwanta’s release this evening from the thick bush where he was kept.

As at the time of this report, it could not be ascertained whether there was any casualty on the part of kidnappers nor ransom paid.

However, Dr. Unwanta is safe and sound, and has been reunited with his family members.
