Popular social media influencer and self-acclaimed ‘Table shaker’, Mr. Reno Omokri has revealed how 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi diverted money meant for the development of Anambra state to his private business.
Omokri, a public analyst and commentator on contemporary issues who stated this in his social media post, queried how Obi, a two-term governor of Anambra state was better than the immediate-past governor of Kogi state, His Excellency, Yahaya Bello.
It would be recalled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had penultimate week, declared the former Kogi state Chief Executive wanted for offences bordering on diversion of public funds, following his refusal to honour invitations by the anti-graft Commission. In his post, Omokri who claimed that Obi allegedly diverted the sum of thirty five million dollars ($35,000,000.00) “… to invest in his own bank”, dared the former governor to sue him if he was lying.
Omokri said “But how is Peter Obi better than Yahaya Bello? Yahaya Bello allegedly used state funds to pay for his children’s school fees. Peter Obi used state funds to invest in his own bank. Close to $35 million. Money that was earning interest for his bank, Fidelity Bank. Interest that was going into his pocket”
The ‘Table Shaker’ also claimed that in terms of developmental projects, the wanted former Kogi governor was better than Peter Obi but added that none of the two was better in terms of corruption.
“That was why he refused to build even a single nursery school for eight years. If he built schools with the money, how would he make money from it in his bank?
If I am lying, let Peter Obi sue me. I have all the facts.
In terms of developmental projects, Yahaya Bello is better than Peter Obi. In terms of corruption and conflict of interest, none is better”
It could also be recalled that Reno Omokri had recently challenged the supporters of Peter Obi, popularly known as ‘Obidients’ to name one school the former governor built, completed and commissioned during his eight years tenure and get a $10, 000.00 (ten thousand dollars) reward.
