…says Umo Eno, Deputy are kind-hearted friends of people with disabilities
Personal Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Persons with Disabilities, Comrade Ubong Imo Ikpe has congratulated his Principal, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno over his victory at the Supreme court.
Comrade Ubong who congratulated the State’s Chief Executive in a Goodwill Message he personally signed, a copy of which was obtained by our paper, also hailed the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Senator Akon Eyakanyi, describing the duo’s victory as a huge success for the state. The governor’s Aide further noted that Pastor and his Deputy were altruistic and dependable friends of people with disabilities.
According to Comrade Ikpe, the apex court judgement was the express will of the people of the state who desired an all-inclusive administration, saying it was a victory for democracy, People With Disabilities (PWDS) and the entire marginalised citizens in the state.
While recounting the governor’s generosities to people with disabilities in the past seven months to include, appointment of one with disability as aide, payment of school fees for Undergraduates and post-graduates with disabilities, celebration of 2023 White Cane and Safety Day, and transformational capacity training, amongst others, Comrade Ubong appreciated God for standing solidly behind the duo as the protracted legal tussle lasted and appealed to everyone in the state, including PWDS to give the governor an unflinching support.
The governor’s aide in the message also assured persons with disabilities in the state that Governor Eno being a seasoned administrator, a visionary leader and kind-hearted gentleman, will certainly change their fortunes greatly and sued for an unalloyed loyalty to the administration and the ARISE-agenda of the the governor.
