Hon. Pastor Engr. Ubong Attah, the Honourable Member representing Ibesikpo Asutan state constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, gathered his constituents for a memorable Christmas get-together on December 29th, 2023. The event, held at his country home in Ikot Akpa Ndua, Asutan ward 1, was a moment to express gratitude to GOD for the Birth of our LORD, JESUS CHRIST, and appreciation to the people of his constituency.

Hon. Ubong Attah expressed his deep appreciation for the overwhelming support he has received from the electorate and decided to make the celebration even more meaningful for the entire Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. Embracing the spirit of Christmas, he highlighted the importance of sharing love and joy during this festive season. In a remarkable gesture, the lawmaker pledged to donate his salary to his Constituency, starting from January 2024.

As part of his generous contributions during the Christmas season, Hon. Ubong Attah donated cash, and two cows to the council of chiefs representing the two clans of Ibesikpo and Asutan. He also revealed plans for upcoming projects, including the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lion Estate, a 200-housing estate in Ikot Udo Nkan, scheduled for January 20th, 2024. Additionally, he announced the opening of Pastor Umo Eno’s Bee Farming Initiative and his own constituency office. Hon. Ubong Attah assured the people of Ibesikpo Asutan of his unwavering commitment to effective representation.

The importance of adhering to zoning principles was highlighted by the Political Leader of Ibesikpo Asutan, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk. He emphasized that upholding zoning practices will enhance internal democracy within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at various levels. Etuk believes that this approach will provide equal opportunities for all party structures to experience inclusive governance, fostering a sense of representation and renewed hope for both majority and minority groups in all political units. He also reiterated that the established two-term limit for political office holders in Ibesikpo and Asutan Clan is a permanent fixture.

During the event, Hon. (Mrs) Akon Michael Asuquo, the Chairman of the Transition Committee in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, expressed her gratitude to the people for their unwavering support of the PDP and Governor Umo Eno. She commended Hon. Attah for organizing the Christmas get-together and assured the people of her continuous appreciation.

Rt. Hon. Mark Esset, the Honourable Member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, took the opportunity to thank the people of Ibesikpo Asutan for their support in the previous election. He promised to continue being their voice in the legislative chambers and demonstrated his support for Hon. Ubong Attah by donating bags of rice and cash. He also assured the constituency that his future projects in 2024 would benefit them.

The highlight of the Christmas get-together was the presentation of Christmas packages to party supporters by Hon. Ubong Attah, the Ibesikpo Asutan House of Assembly Member, the Senator, the National Assembly Member, The Finance Commissioner, Dr. Linus Nkan, and the Transition Committee Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
