-Presents gifts to family
Wife of the Etinan local government Chairman; Mrs Emily Uko Umoh has, on behalf of the Akwa Ibom state First Lady; Pastor Patience Umo Eno, welcomed the New Year Baby, showering the family with gifts.
Emily Uko, accompanied by her husband and Council Chairman; Hon. Uko Umoh stormed the General Hospital, Etinan few minutes after 12am where they welcomed the baby.
Speaking, the Council Chairman’s wife expressed happiness to both the mother of the child and medical personnel on duty for save delivery of the baby.
She noted that she was at the hospital on behalf of the Governor’s wife whom she described as a caring and loving mother to all Akwa Ibom children, adding that Pastor Patience Umo Eno is interested in the affairs of every Akwa Ibom child.
Emily who named the baby Little Prince, appealed to the parents to take care of the child and reminded them of the Akwa Ibom state Child Rights Act which gives Akwa Ibom children opportunity to access free and compulsory education.
The chairman’s wife applauded medical personnel on duty for shelving their different religious schedules for the year to ensure the mother and the baby were safe.
“I am grateful for what God has done for this family. I am here to welcome this baby on behalf of the first lady of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Patience Umo Eno and I want to assure you that our Governor’s wife is interested in the affairs of every Akwa Ibom child.
“I charge the parents of this little baby to ensure they do everything within their power to give this child the needed education to excel in life. I wish the family well”, Emily said.
In his words, the local government Chairman; Hon. Uko Umoh appreciated God for the safe delivery of the child and described mothers as people specially endowed with patience to bear and nurse children.
He lauded the management of the hospital for maintaining facilities within the hospital while assuring them of his administration’s commitment to assisting the hospital for effective service delivery.
Responding, the mother of the child, Mrs. Queen Utibe Emmanuel commended Akwa Ibom state First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno and the Chairman’s; wife Mrs. Emily Uko Umo for the surprise packages.
She gave the assurances that she would do everything possible to ensure the child is raised in the way of God, and prayed for God to keep and direct the Governor as he leads the state.
