Akwa Ibom workers are in joyous mood following the actualization of the 13th month pay tagged, “ENOMDER”, promised by the Governor, Pastor Umo. This kept promise which is in addition to the payment of ten thousand naira parliative for 3 months, release of funds for the payment of gratuity to to retired workers in the public service have been applauded by the workers and the organized labour.

Reacting to this development, the Head of Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, has on behalf of all the workers, thanked the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for this empathy and demonstration of sincere concern for the welfare of his workers.

According to the Head of Civil Service, this timely payment of these largese to workers will, in no small measure, cushion the financial difficulties occasioned by the oil subsidy removal and the yuletide period.

Elder Essien, who was interacting with newsmen in his office in Uyo, explained that the payment of the December salary will follow as appropriate, affirmed that workers from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies were surprised, excited and relieved on getting their credit alerts and many, including labour leaders, have called to register their appreciation and commendation for the State Governor.

The Civil Service Helmsman added that these largese for workers, who are the engine room of government, are in addition to other development projects which the present administration is executing in the state.

The Head of Civil Service thanked God for His grace upon the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and the state. He called on workers not to relent in their dedication to duty and support to Governor to justify the Governor’s kind gestures and to enable him achieve more for the workers and the state in line with the ARISE Agenda.
