…Commend President Buhari over rehabilitation of Abak-Ekparakwa-Ikot Abasi, Ekparakwa-Iwukem roads

The Abak 5 Redemption Movement have resolved to partner the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs towards achieving rapid socioeconomic development of the area.

This was part of resolutions taken at the end of the group’s meeting which had in attendance eminent sons and daughters of Abak 5, comprising Abak, Etim Ekpo, Ika, Ukanafun and Oruk Anam Local Government Areas.

The group commended the reformative philosophy of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio and pledged their readiness to support the minster and former governor in his avowed determination to reposition the ministry and agencies under its supervision.

The Abak 5 Redemption Movement also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his role in the rehabilitation of the Abak-Ekparakwa-Ikot Abasi and Ekparakwa-Iwukem road projects, stating that the intervention when completed would bring great relief to road users and open up the region.

The group equally commended the former Managing Director of the NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere for his contribution towards the development of the zone.

Some of the significant and life touching intervention projects credited to Obong Ekere include erosion control at Hospital Road, Abak, as well as construction of roads at Ekperikpe Ekpo avenue, renovation and Reconstruction of schools at Oku Abak among others;
and wished him well in his future endeavour.

The group thanked its members for their role in the 2019 polls which had been laid to rest, urging them to remain resolute and steadfast as plans are on the way to ensure that they benefited from the numerous empowerment programmes of the federal government.

The meeting had Dr Amadu Attai, DIG Ekpoudom Rtd, Hon Uwem Udoma, Barr Chris Okorie, Dr Innocent Idong, Barr Solomon Etuk, Hon Mabel Udongwo, Lady Victoria Mel, APC Chapter Chairmen of zone as well as other eminent personalities drawn from the five local government areas of Abak 5 in attendance.
